Entry #4

Insights/Learning from the Project
In our project handicraft for this quarter, I really enjoy doing it. At first I dont like because I'm lazy to do it (cutting magazine in same size, folding it and built something) but when I already finish doing my project I'm so happy but sadly one of my teacher confiscated it, I hope I can get it back :-(
As what I have said, I learn how to recycle things to make it useful instead of buying and buying new things especially the beatiful one but expensive, we are just wasting our money so it is better to recycle things and make by your own.
Doing recycle things is better than to waste money to buy new things. It's FUN!

Insights/Learning from the handicraft 1 and 2
The first handicraft we made is the picture frame that is made from the used materials. The materials that we used are the carton, straw for the border, glue, picture for the frame and glitters for design.
The second handicraft we made is the Door Chain. It is also made from the used materials like the used folder, magazine, string or yarn and other materials for the design.
My Learnign from the two handicraft that we made is that how to recycle things. As a studewnt, to help our environment to lessen trash is ti recycle. We can make things useful from the used materials and one thing it is FUN!

On January 23, 1993, a 6 lbs. 13 oz. baby girl was born at Zamboanga General Hospital, Zamboanga City. She was later given the name RAIZA CZARINA A. VILLACIN by her parents, Mr. Cesar A. Villacin and Mrs. Suaida A. Villacin.
Raiza I am fondly called by my relatives and friends is now 14 years of age. Standing 5’3 inches in tall and weight 53 kilos, is fair complexion and with medium size body built. Presently I am residing at Putik, Lunzuran Road, Zamboanga City together with my parent, sisters and brothers. We are five (5) siblings. Two (2) of, which are boys and three (3) are girls. I am the youngest child. I first had my first normal education at Puericulture Kinder garden School where I was enrolled as kinder- I last 1997, then the following year my parents transferred me to Putik Central School where I graduated kinder- II. Grade 1 in Red Cross and I transferred in Zion Evangelical School where I spent my 5 years elementary diploma last 2004-2005. And now I’ m in 2nd year high school student at Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

As for my family background, my father is a Christian whose mother hails from Iligan City and his father is from Cebu City. My paternal grandparents transferred residence here at Zamboanga City, when my grandfather’s job assignment was transferred here. He was connected with the Bureau of Prisons, San Ramon and Penal Colony where at the time of his retirement he was the prison Inspector. While my father is a Christian, my mother is a Muslim whose ancestors hail from Taluksangay, Zamboanga City. My maternal grandfather is half-Muslim and half-Ilokano, but they both follow the Islam religion. Like my paternal grandfather, when my father married my mother, he decided to have his religion converted from Catholic to Islam; hence every member of the family is embracing the Islam religion. All the five of us were baptized as Muslims. However , my parents were not the religion fanatic kind of person, that’s why we grew up liberated and free to mingle with all types of personalities regardless of religion.

My father is a Registered Criminologist and he works as Penal Investigator of the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm and my mother is a Registered Nurse and she works as the Hospital Infection Control Nurse holding the position of Supervising Nurse at the Zamboanga City Medical Center. Our eldest brother was already graduated in Ateneo de Zamboanga University and now he is already police in PNP. While an elder brother, sisters and I are still go in school.

Throughout my 14 years in life, I have had a lot of significant events in life. And one most significant event that I can and will never forget were the times when our family members were still complete –these were the times when my maternal grandparents were still alive. Every moment together with them was really precious. During summer vacations, they would bring us to the province, specifically in Payao, Zamboanga Del Sur where my grandfather was a Municipal Mayor. There we have the chance to play together with our playmates without fear of getting sick because of pollution. We eat fresh fruits from our farm and eating buko directly under the coconut trees is really a lot of fun and enjoyment. Sometimes our relatives there would bring us to the open sea for a picnic and during low tide; they would find some sea urchins that could be eaten raw accompanied with boiled banana or camote. Thru my grandparents, I have learned a lot of values, and now that both of them have already died. I really missed them and those precious moments we shared.

Now that I have grown up and continue growing up, I am starting to set up plans for my future. Presently, I am still under the shadow of my parents and eventually whether I like it or not, I would be detaching from their shadows. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I would finish my studies although I honestly confessed that I have yet adjust with the teaching standards of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. After finishing my studies, if given the chance, I would like to further my educational attainment, by pursuing another 4 year course and if given another chance, I also would like to finish a Masteral Degree. I know that education today is very important and is globally competitive. It’s very difficult to land a job, unless your qualification meet the average requirements set by the institution where you applying.
As a youngest child in the family, it is my responsibility to respect my elder brothers and sisters, parents and others. I also would like to help my parents in any financial problem if I have already my work. I strongly believed that my parents have tried their very best to give us the best.
